Shooting Star” the title song of their latest album was shortlisted for UK Country Music "Song of the Year" award in 2024.

                             

JakLash Cat is a three piece Chester band, with an Americana / Country Rock influence. Mainly performing their own songs they will, if required, include a number of covers.

 

The line-up consists of Phil Blundell on rhythm guitar and vocals, John Evans on bass guitar and Steve Pyne on lead guitar. Phil is the songwriter in the band.

 

They have appeared on Liverpool Football Club’s Sky TV channel and at a number of festivals, including the Nantwich Jazz and Blues Festival. Additionally, they have played at a number of live venues in Chester and the surrounding area.

"Promises and Vows" their first album was released in April 2019 and was reviewed in the July edition of Maverick country music magazine.

The band's latest album "Shooting Star" was released in April 2023 and can be heard on Spotify, Soundcloud and other music platforms.

It has had many positive reviews, including one by Alan Harrison on his Rocking Magpie Radio Show when he said that "You’d normally associate quality like this with household names from America/Canada on or about their 4th or 5th album”.

Currently, tracks are being played daily on UK Country Radio.
